Klondike Game Rules
 
Klondike game example (Klondike type; 1 deck; unlimited redeals)
 
bullet Game time: Medium
bullet Difficulty level: Easy
bullet Skill or chance: Mostly chance
bullet Chance of winning: Medium (about 1 in 5)

Object of the game
To move all the cards to the foundations.

Foundations

(4 piles)

  • Build up in an ascending suit sequence from Ace to King (for example a 2 hearts.bmp (270 byte) can be placed on an Ace hearts.bmp (270 byte)).

  • Complete these piles to win the game.

 

Tableau

(7 piles)

  • Build down in a descending sequence of alternating colors (for example a 10 can be placed on a Jackhearts.bmp (270 byte)).

  • The top cards are available for play to another tableau pile or to the foundations.

  • An entire built unit of cards in the proper sequence may be moved as a unit to another tableau pile.

  • Spaces may be filled only with Kings or a packed sequence with a King at the top.

Stock

  • Turn up one card at a time from the stock to the waste by clicking.

  • There are unlimited redeals of the stock until the game is blocked or won.

Waste

(1 pile) 

  • The top card is available for play to the foundations or to the tableau.

Notes

  • Alternate names: Fascination, Chinaman, Triangle, Demon, Patience, Solitaire.

Options

  • Autoplay: Click the Autoplay button on the toolbar.

Strategy Tips

  • If autoplay is turned on, don't let one foundation get too far ahead of the others.

  • You may sometimes have more chances of winning by disabling the Autoplay function.
